The Labradoodle is a cross of the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle; the Poodle was bred for retrieving game from water. Both are small to large dogs by weight. The Labradoodle has a coat that varies with the parents, needing weekly to regular grooming; the Poodle, a curly coat, needing regular grooming. The Labradoodle sheds anywhere from less than most to a lot; the Poodle, less than most. Both need lots of exercise.
